Honeycomb Base Connections: Range, Power, and Water
Honeycomb base connections use range indicators for water, power, and facilities; storage distances and multi-floor builds still need verification.
FAQ
Do I need visible cables between facilities?
Can I connect a second floor or a bee tub to another habitat?
What is the basic base connection rule?
Place the water pump and power producer so their displayed operating ranges overlap, then place dependent facilities inside the valid range. Select the producer or station after construction and inspect the range indicator again; do not rely on visual proximity alone.
The first base water and power guide explains the practical build order, while the early resource route lists materials observed on the opening route.
Which facilities can share the first operating area?
The observed workflow supports a multi-room, door, grow bed, pollinator pipe, fabricator, multi-cooker, water dispenser, bed, and nearby storage as parts of the initial base loop. Their exact unlock order and recipes remain current-build data rather than assumptions from another survival game.
| Connection or facility question | Current evidence |
|---|---|
| Pump supplied by a nearby producer | Range-based workflow observed |
| Indoor stations inside a multi-room | Used as the practical starter layout |
| Nearby locker or storage as crafting input | Observed proximity behavior; exact distance pending |
| Visible cables required | Not established as required by the observed workflow |
| Second-floor snapping and mixed habitat parts | Player-reported question; no universal confirmed handling |
How should I build upward or connect habitats?
Start with a single minimal working layout and verify each completed part before adding another room or floor. If a wall, floor, bee tub, or habitat does not snap, record the part names, build mode, support piece, surface, platform, and current version. A failed snap may be a placement condition, an unlock dependency, or a bug; the evidence available here does not distinguish those causes.
Do not publish a fixed keybind or a guaranteed second-floor recipe until a current-build recording shows the complete sequence. The known issues and troubleshooting guide contains the official route for separating a game issue from a general platform problem.
Why is nearby storage not supplying a station?
Confirm that the storage and station are finished, close enough for the current connection indicator, and holding the required material. Test one locker and one station before expanding the layout. The proximity behavior is an observed convenience, not a published universal distance or capacity rule.
For the survival order and return preparation, use the first-day survival guide. For cultivation dependencies, see the plant growth and cultivation reference.
Sources and version notes
The official Honeycomb website describes water-source base building, pumps, power, and growing facilities. Existing videos support the range-based workflow but are pre-release observations, not a complete launch-build connection specification. A player discussion about habitat connections is retained as a testing lead only.
