Quick answer: is Honeycomb released?

Yes. Honeycomb: The World Beyond officially launched on September 8, 2026. This page is a post-launch starting point for players using the full release and early hotfixes.

Demo and full release

The official release announcement described the demo as a preview of landing on Sota 7, gathering first resources, trying basic base building, and using bioengineering tools. It described the full release as adding deeper bioengineering, base building and upgrades, broader exploration, survival mechanics, and more wildlife. (Official release and demo announcement)

The official announcements use different estimates for demo length. The August 19 announcement said around one hour, while the August 31 demo announcement said a session ends after two hours or a main-quest milestone, whichever comes first. These are dated announcement statements, not a universal playtime guarantee.

Which mode should I choose?

Scientist is the clearest starting point because Frozen Way labels it recommended and balanced. Survivalist is described as a tougher veteran option with faster vital-stat depletion. Space Hell uses the Survivalist-style mechanics with permanent death. Engineer lets you customize settings such as building costs, stamina and immunity drain, animal aggression, river force, and material occurrence multipliers.

Read the full game modes and difficulty guide. Do not use an Engineer configuration as evidence for default Scientist behavior.

What to do on the first day

Use this order as orientation, not a timed challenge:

  1. Check the status screen and treat urgent conditions before travelling far.
  2. Open the landing capsule inventory and secure the analyzer, water, food, medical supplies, and light source.
  3. Scan unfamiliar plants, rocks, animals, and environmental objects before consuming or touching them.
  4. Gather early resources for basic tools and the first construction steps.
  5. Keep food and water available for the return trip; not every plant is safe to eat.
  6. Build near a water source and place dependent facilities within their displayed operating ranges.
  7. Pin the active quest and blueprint checklist while exploring.

The detailed first-day survival guide covers the opening sequence. Use the Sota 7 starting-area map and early resource database for orientation; neither claims exact coordinates or complete recipes.

Food, water, and immunity

Early survival is a loop of finding safe consumables, returning before your condition becomes critical, and improving your base. See the early flora and food guide, water and power guide, and immunity guide.

Exact food values, recipes, difficulty multipliers, and recovery times require current-build verification. This guide does not turn preview or player-video observations into universal full-release data.

Research and the first base

Scan the world, upload findings through the analyzer system, pin the next quest, and use the first base as a safer place to craft and recover. The analyzer guide explains the interface, and the base connections reference explains displayed operating ranges.

Current technical issues

Start with Known Issues and Troubleshooting and the Compatibility Branch Guide. Official workarounds, player reports, and unresolved items are kept separate. Do not delete saves, disable security software, or install unknown patches as generic fixes.
