Honeycomb Early Flora and Food Guide
Identify the first useful Honeycomb plants, collect fruit safely, manage growth cycles, and turn early flora into food, seeds, and research materials.
FAQ
Why can’t I harvest a plant immediately?
What does the analyzer do for plants?
Which plants are useful at the start?
The first area contains edible fruit, stems, fibrous materials, and plants that unlock research or crafting blueprints. Sunbeam Lumis is shown as an early thirst-supporting fruit, while Sweet Tarax can be collected for food and crafting progression. Other plants such as Mars Filoid, Lavia, and Ebony Linta appear in the supplied footage but need current-build item testing before their complete uses are documented.
For a safe route between plants and minerals, use the Sota 7 starting area map. For the survival order, follow the first-day survival guide.
How do plant growth cycles work?
Aim at highlighted plants in AR mode while holding the analyzer to check whether biological data or harvesting is available. When a plant is not ready, wait or complete another task, then return after the displayed growth period. The videos show approximate timers, but those values are not treated as universal until tested against the release build.
| Plant or material | Observed early use | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Sunbeam Lumis | Fruit for thirst support; ingredient in preserved food | Repeated observation |
| Sweet Tarax | Fruit or stems for food and early crafting | Repeated observation |
| Mars Filoid | Branches and fruit-related research or crafting | Needs recipe verification |
| Lavia | Cultivation and medical or wildlife-related progression | Needs recipe verification |
| Ebony Linta | Fruit used in later food or immunity progression | Needs recipe verification |
How do I preserve early food?
Use the multi-cooker to process suitable ingredients into longer-lasting food. The footage demonstrates canned Sunbeam Lumis and other snacks, but exact ingredient quantities vary by recipe and should be copied only after checking the in-game blueprint. Consume items that are already close to decay before sleeping or skipping time.
Food and water drain slowly in the shown settings, yet low supplies can still interrupt a research trip. Carry a small reserve, store surplus near a fabricator, and check the inventory state before leaving a sealed structure.
Can I grow and cross-breed plants?
Build a grow bed inside the powered base, supply it with water, and place seeds into the correct planting slot. The videos describe a bed that can support multiple plants or one tree, plus a pollinator pipe that guides bees toward the growing area. Grafting can combine branches from trees in the same family and may produce a hybrid with traits from both parents.
Hybrid outcomes are not guaranteed in the footage. Record parent plants, branch type, soil, and result as separate observations so the eventual resources database can distinguish tested recipes from hypotheses.
