Honeycomb Hybrid Research and Immunity Guide
Understand Honeycomb immunity, EON-sealed structures, the IM Pump, and the research loop without inventing unverified launch-build recipes or timers.
FAQ
What does the Immunity Pump do?
What should I do when immunity drops?
Are the hybrid recipes in the video confirmed?
What does immunity change during an expedition?
Immunity is the constraint that turns a short resource trip into a preparation problem. Outdoor exposure can reduce the protection available to the player, so plan a return route before following a research lead and leave when the warning becomes more important than the remaining resource.
The official Hive Update #14 describes alien pathogens outside and EON-sealed structures as protected spaces between expeditions. Use those statements as the confirmed system explanation; do not turn them into an exact drain-rate or recovery table.
What is the difference between an IM Pump and IMX?
The IM Pump is equipment for extending outdoor exploration. IMX is discussed here as the immunity-supporting source or effect shown in the research loop. They should not be treated as interchangeable: the pump is a tool or device, while the exact IMX item, food, recipe, value, and duration depend on the current build.
| Field | Current status |
|---|---|
| Outdoor immunity pressure | Confirmed system concept |
| EON-sealed structure as a protected return point | Confirmed in official development material |
| IM Pump supports longer outdoor trips | Confirmed in official development material |
| IM Pump materials and unlock | Needs live-build blueprint screenshot |
| IMX food, recipe, value, and duration | Needs repeatable in-game testing |
How should I prepare for a low-immunity warning?
Stop extending the route, mark the nearest safe return point, and use only protection that the current build explicitly confirms. Return indoors when possible, preserve food and medical supplies for the trip back, and postpone a deeper research run until the pump and IMX workflow is known.
The first-day survival guide covers the first return loop, the early survival items reference records the current medical and equipment questions, and the plant growth reference separates cultivation observations from confirmed recipes.
What remains open about hybrid research?
The research videos show a broader loop involving plant materials, cultivation, wildlife observation, nests, and hybrid experiments. They do not establish universal compatibility, quantities, growth time, pheromone use, inherited traits, or camera range.
The supplied Part 2 footage shows Ebony Lint and Ivory Lint seeds placed together in a grow bed, with the game indicating that the hybrid needs several local days to grow. This records the setup and a displayed wait-state only; it does not confirm the resulting hybrid, compatibility beyond that instance, or a reusable recipe.
Record each future test with the game version, difficulty, parent species or plants, equipment, placement, environmental conditions, exact inputs, number of repetitions, and result. Until those fields are repeatable, keep them out of definitive recipes and databases.
Sources and version notes
The official Steam store page confirms the game’s survival, building, and bioengineering systems. Hive Update #14 supplies the official pre-release immunity and IM Pump description. The supplied Part 2 video is a source of observed cultivation setup, not a launch-build test or confirmed hybrid recipe.
